Strength, Consistency & Determination

The 2024/2025 Zwift Racing League (ZRL) season was an outstanding one for Team CRYO-GEN, with strong podium finishes, key promotions, and consistent performances across all divisions.

League Highlights: Promotions & Achievements

CRYO-GEN teams dominated the league standings, securing eight teams in the top two spots, with four teams earning promotion:

🏆 Champions & Promotions:

  • CRYO-GEN Haleakala (AMERICA N E, Div 2) – League champions, promoted to A1.
  • CRYO-GEN Stelvio (EMEAW S, Div 2) – Promoted to A1 after a dominant season.
  • CRYO-GEN Hautacam (AMERICA N E, Div 2) – Promoted to A1, finishing strong with a Week 6 victory.
  • CRYO-GEN Tourmalet (EMEAE C, Div 2) – Promoted to B1, with three podium finishes.
  • Other top teams: Galibier (B2), Mt-Evans, Iseran, and Grand-Colombier finished runners-up in their leagues.

❌ No CRYO-GEN teams were relegated! A testament to the strength and consistency across Team CRYO-GEN.

🔹 Notable achievement: Haleakala and Hautacam took 1st & 2nd place in AMERICAS Eastern A2, showing CRYO-GEN’s depth in the region!

Top-Performing Teams: Fighting for the Podium

Several CRYO-GEN teams consistently finished at the front of the pack, showcasing strong form and racing IQ:

  • CRYO-GEN Iseran (EMEAE W, Div 1) – 2nd place overall for the third straight season, always battling with DZR (who fielded three B riders in the final race).
    • Best moments: Any time they beat DZR, which they managed several times.
    • Looking ahead: Finals in April, aiming to prove they’re one of the top C teams in the competition.
  • CRYO-GEN Stelvio (EMEAW S, Div 2) – Never finished below 4th, taking two outright wins.
  • CRYO-GEN Hautacam (AMERICA N E, Div 2) – Finished strong with a Week 6 victory, securing promotion.
  • CRYO-GEN Tourmalet (EMEAE C, Div 2) – Three podium finishes, consistently in the top 4.
  • CRYO-GEN Galibier (EMEAW E, Div 3) – Three outright wins, dominant in their division.
  • CRYO-GEN Haleakala (AMERICA N E, Div 2) – Three first-place finishes, strong across the season.
  • CRYO-GEN Grand-Colombier (AMERICA N E, Div 1) – Closed the season with two wins, proving to be a top team.

The above teams secured CRYO-GEN’s status as a leading force in ZRL, consistently competing at the highest level.

Mid-Table Consistency: Holding the Line

Team CRYO-GEN’s mid-table teams held their own in tough divisions, ensuring a strong club presence:

  • CRYO-GEN Mur-de-Huy (EMEAW S, Div 1) – 7th-11th place finishes, a hard-fought season.
  • CRYO-GEN Ventoux (EMEAE W, Div 1) – Always 8th or 9th, steady performer.
  • CRYO-GEN Santis (EMEAW N, Div 2) – Balanced campaign, 5th-9th place finishes.
  • CRYO-GEN Val-Thorens (EMEAE W, Div 2) – A season of consistency, finishing 3rd overall in the league.
    • Never finished lower than 6th in any race.
    • Best result: 3rd place in Round 2.
    • Top points scorers: Nick Hird (355 points) & Philip Helfenberger (311 points), both regularly finishing inside the top 10.
    • Always fielded a 6-man team, demonstrating strength and reliability.
  • CRYO-GEN Koppenberg (EMEAW S, Div 1) – 2nd-place finishes but inconsistent results.
  • CRYO-GEN Mortirolo (EMEAW E, Div 1) – Regular 4th-5th place finishes, solid presence.

The Battlers: Fighting Hard in Tough Leagues

Some teams fought against the odds in highly competitive divisions, showing resilience and determination:

  • CRYO-GEN Mauna-Kea (OCEANIA W, Div 1) – Two superb 3rd places, but a DNQ hurt their final standings.
  • CRYO-GEN Etna (OCEANIA W, Div 1) – Consistently 8th-11th place in a brutal B1 league.
  • CRYO-GEN Mount Aspiring (OCEANIA W, Div 1) – Never lower than 14th in a league of 16, proving their fighting spirit.

These teams showed true grit against elite competition, and their efforts were nothing short of impressive.

Special Recognitions: Teams of the Week & Season

🏅 Teams of the Week:

  • Week 3 – CRYO-GEN Stelvio for a superb win in EMEA-W Southern A2.
  • Week 4 – CRYO-GEN Iseran for beating DZR in the TTT by 3 seconds.
  • Week 5 – CRYO-GEN Mt-Evans (Americas Central C1) & Galibier for their victories.
  • Week 6 – CRYO-GEN Hautacam’s first win in AMERICAS Eastern A2 & Mauna-Kea securing another 3rd place.

🏆 Team of the Season:

  • CRYO-GEN Haleakala, for their dominant title-winning campaign in AMERICAS Eastern A2.

Looking Ahead: Bigger Goals for Next Season

With big changes coming to ZRL (likely moving to Zwift Racing Score), CRYO-GEN is ready to adapt and compete at the highest level.

🔹 Key targets for next season:

  • CRYO-GEN Iseran preparing for ZRL Finals in April, aiming to establish themselves as one of the top C squads.
  • CRYO-GEN Stelvio & CRYO-GEN Tourmalet pushing for promotion to higher divisions.
  • CRYO-GEN Mur-de-Huy & other mid-table teams looking to build on their chemistry & climb the rankings.

With depth, teamwork, and a hunger for results, CRYO-GEN is set for another dominant season.
